夜貓 CAT IN THE DARK

經常都見到這貓貓, 今天終於拍了牠. 街頭經常會見到野貓, 但因為街道黑暗, 貓貓又好動, 很難拍得到. 這次拍到牠也是非常難得的.

I saw this cat frequently. I take it's photo finally. You may always see cats on the street. But it is hard to take a photo as the road is dark and the cat is moving. It is very lucky that I can take this picture.

新靈魂 NEW SOUL

我用了這第一代谷歌電話已經一年有多了, 一直都是維持在1.6的版本. 可是, 最近很多軟件都不支援1.6了. 於是我只好將電話升級至2.2版本. 弄了半天, 終於都成功升級了.

I have been using this first generation Google phone for more than a year. I kept my phone on the 1.6 version. However, many software does not support 1.6 version anymore. Therefore, I need to upgrade my phone to the 2.2 version. After working on it for a half day, my phone is now running on android 2.2.

曝光的選擇 SELECTION OF EXPOSURE

攝影與真實的看見, 其實有所不同. 因為人眼對光線的寬容度是比菲林和感光原件高的. 假設人眼可同時看見光度1至10的畫面, 相機拍下的, 可能只有3至8的光度, 過光的會全白, 過暗的會全黑. 因此, 我們不可能見到什麼就拍什麼, 還要先問問自己想拍下的什麼. 最基本的, 就是以想拍攝的主體去選擇曝光的基數.

The photography is different form the reality. It is because the human's eyes have a higher dynamic range on light than film and CMOS. Let say, if human can see the light level form 1 to 10 at the same time, camera can only record maybe 3 to 8 light level. It will be totally black or white if above or below the range. Therefore, we can not snap everything we saw. We must ask our self, what I am want to show in my picture. You can choose the object you want to show on the picture as the basic exposure measure. It is the foundation of exposure.

書展 BOOK FAIR

每一年都會舉辦書展. 而香港人, 好像每年都只有書展買書般, 總是一窩蜂的去書展搶購.

There is book fair every year. But it seems that Hong Kong people only buy books in the book fair. They buy books in a swarm.

雨天 RAINY DAY

吃過午飯後, 開始下雨了. 濕滑的馬路, 反映天上的光, 也有點美.

It start to rain after the lunch. The wet road reflected the light. Rainy day can also be a beautiful day.

鹽焗薯仔 BAKED POTATO IN SALT

這道菜不單很好吃, 還很好玩. 先要把包住薯仔的鹽打碎, 再吃中間的薯仔. 可是這道菜不是經常吃到.

This dish is tasty, and funny also. Firstly, you have to break the salt which covered the potato. Then, you can enjoy the tasty potato. However, it is not always available.

開心笑 A HAPPY SMILE

聾貓 DEAF CAT

聾貓是香港一位漫畫家創作的漫畫人物. 最近牠越來越紅了, 商場亦以牠作為宣傳. 老實說, 我不覺得牠可愛.

Deaf Cat (In fact, I down know it official English name.) is a comic character created by a Hong Kong cartoonist. It is getting more popular. A shopping mall invited it for promotion campaign. In fact, I don't think it is cute.

暗 DARK

天空暗暗的, 即使是彩色的世界, 色彩都不見了. 拍一張黑白照, 拍到的, 和看到的, 都差不多.

The sky is dark. The color seems disappeared in this colorful world. Take a black and white picture. The world in the picture is same as the real world in my eyes.

熱狗 HOT DOG

此熱狗不同於食物的熱狗. 香港人嬉稱沒有冷氣的雙層巴士為熱狗, 至於起源, 可能是因為香港最大的巴士公司是九龍巴士, 九與狗同音, 很熱的九巴, 就成為了熱狗. 熱狗在香港已經很少了, 再過兩三年, 應該會全部更換成冷氣巴士吧.

This hot dog is not a food. Hong Kong people called the double deck bus without air conditioner a hot dog. Why they called it hot dog? Maybe because of the biggest bus company is the Kowloon Motor Bus. The first word of the company in Chinese pronounce the same as the dog. Hot dog is not common now. They may all replaced by the new air conditioned bus soon.

沙律吧 SALAD BAR

沙律吧是一個很有趣的東西, 它有各種各類的沙律配料, 讓你自由配搭. 有人各種都拿一些, 把盤子放滿. 有人只拿自己喜歡的, 拿自己需要的份. 有人喜歡疊得高高的, 想破自己的紀錄. 沙律吧前, 竟可看到世界的縮影.

Salad bar is a finny thing. It has different type of salad ingredients and let you choose yourself. Some people takes everything, and make the dish full. Some people takes their needs only. Some people stack up the ingredients for breaking their records. It is very funny that you can see different people in front of the salad bar.

菲林片 SHEET FILM

菲林片, 其實亦是膠卷, 只不過不是卷裝的. 一般人很少會接觸到菲林片, 特別是在這個數碼世代. 其實菲林片在以前是拍攝的主流工具, 只是較方便的膠卷出現後就漸漸被取代.

Sheet film, is also a film, which is not in roll form. Sheet film is not common now, especially in this digital age. In fact, sheet film was a common tools in photographic. It was replaced when the convenient film roll exist.

煙霧 SMOG

最近天空經常白蒙蒙, 這些不是霧, 而是煙. 很討厭這樣的日子, 因為視野差, 空氣亦很悶, 呼吸也變得困難. 若天天都是這樣, 我想我會很快死掉.

There is a white layer on the sky these days. It is not fog, but smog. I hate this weather, as the visibility is low, the air is steady and breathing become not easy. I'll die soon if the weather keeps likes this.

戰爭遊戲 WAR GAME

戰爭遊戲, 我一直都有參與. 有人覺得戰爭遊戲是一種很暴力的玩意, 其實並不是一般人想像的. 戰爭遊戲是講求合作, 加上冷靜的分析, 配合體力與反應, 一種對多方面都有鍛鍊的活動, 並不是拿著槍亂射. 間中參與, 是一種不錯的運動.

War game, I join occasionally. Someone thinks war game is a violent activity. In fact, it is totally different. War game require cooperation, analytical mind, reaction and physical strength. It is an activity that trains these aspects. It is a good activity to join occasionally.

天星碼頭 STAR FERRY PIER

尖沙咀天星碼頭, 是香港的地標之一. 不少遊客會乘搭小輪橫渡維多利亞港. 可是這個地標將會重建, 到時會變成怎樣, 會比現在好, 還是會變差了?

The Star Ferry pier in Tsim Sha Tsui is one of the landmarks in Hong Kong. Many tourists cross the Victoria harbor by the ferry. However, this landmark will be reconstructed. Will it be better? or worse?

雲 CLOUD

雲, 經常都會見到, 但從來沒有一樣的雲. 攝影, 就可以將一剎的景象記錄下來, 不斷重溫.

Cloud, we see it frequently. But there was no cloud look the same. Photography can record a moment, and continuous recall.

觀塘日落 SUNSET AT KWUN TONG

原本想趕去拍日落的, 但是因為堵車, 最終只能以手機趕拍日落的一刻. 日落雖美, 但很短暫. 太陽歸心似箭, 總覺得它比其他時間走得更快.

I rush to Kwun Tong and want to take a picture of the sunset. However, a traffic jam make me late, and I can take the very last moment of the sunset with my cell phone only. The sunset is very beautiful, but it go fast. I always think the sun move faster when sunset. Maybe the sun want to back home quickly.

地下鐵 MTR

地下鐵, 是香港大部份人每天都要乘坐的交通工具. 每天上下班時間, 很多人都擠進車廂中, 希望盡快去到目的地. 繁忙時間過後, 車廂變得空曠, 緊張的氣氛盡去, 顯出地下鐵的另一面.

MTR, is a transportation that many Hong Kong citizen use everyday. Everyday before and after the working hour, many people squeeze into the compartment. They wanted to get to the destination in the shortest time. After the peak hour, the compartment become empty. The tense atmosphere gone, and the other face of the MTR show.

可樂芝士餅 FIRED CHEESE IN COKE FLAVOR

今天晚上吃了一道特別的菜, 原本聽它的名字, 可樂芝士餅, 以為是有可樂味的炸芝士. 可是, 一咬下去, 就完全失望了. 就只不過是一般的炸芝士, 何以"可樂"? 最後發現, 原來深色的醬汁是可樂煮成的, 但根本就不夠味. 我以後都不會再吃的.

Tonight, I've try a special food. When I saw the name of the food, fired cheese in coke flavor, I thought it is a fired cheese with a coke taste. However, I felt disappointed after I taste it. It is just a simple fired cheese, where is the coke? At last, I found that the sauce in dark color is made by coke. But the taste of coke is not strong enough. I'll never try this again.

炎夏 HOT SUMMER

夏天已經到了一段時間, 天氣越來越熱. 加上沒有半點雲的天空, 熱上加熱. 路上行人不多, 不是必要的話, 都不會停留在街上. 這炎夏, 和溫室效應有關嗎?

Summer has came for some day and the temperature is getting higher and higher. Furthermore, the clear sky makes it even hotter. There are only few people on the street. No one want to stay on the street for no reasons. Is this hot summer related to the green house effect?

自沖九龍夜景 SELF DEVELOP KOWLOON NIGHT VIEW

谷沖400ISO, 用D-76藥, 在29度的水溫, 顯影了7分30秒. 得出的結果, 還是不滿意. 曝光時間應該要再加長. 也許用數碼相機作測光真是不行, 要買一隻有點測光的測光錶.

Pushed to 400 ISO, with D-76 solution, at 29 degree Celsius, developed for 7 mins 30 secs. And the result is not good again. I think the expose time should be increased. Using digital camera as a light meter may not work. Maybe I need to buy a light meter with spot check.

甜品大師的作品 DESSERT MASTER WORKS

今天, 終於試到了甜品大師Tony Wong的甜品了. 老實說, 我並不覺得特別的好吃. 可能是因為帶回去吃, 放得久了, 味道變差了. 朱古力蛋糕, 我還是最喜愛COVA的.

Today, I tried the works of Tony Wong, the dessert master. In fact, I don't think the taste is very special. Maybe it is because I take the cake back home to eat. It changes it's taste in the way home. Chocolate truffle, COVA is my first choice.

自沖菲林 SELF DEVELOP FILM

之前到那小學拍的照, 今天洗了出來. 用的是之前說過的上海膠卷, 效果也不錯. 可惜的是, 原來那相機的焦點不對, 拍出來的全都不能聚焦. 結果, 今天要為那相機調焦.

This is the primary school which I went about a week ago. I develop it by myself today. The film is the Shang Hai film I mentioned before. It is not bad. But sadly, the camera I used is out of focus. All the pictures I took by this camera are out of focus. As a result, I need to remap the focus for the camera today.

九龍市區 A VIEW IN KOWLOON

連續下了兩天雨, 今天黃昏開始放晴了, 就決定去拍一下九龍. 差不多每天都穿梭其中的城市, 抽身出來, 從高遠處望一下, 又有另一種風味.

After the two day rain, the sun come out in the evening. I decided to take a photo of Kowloon. Kowloon is a city which I travel every day. When I look at it in a far, high way, it is a totally different taste.

又下大雨 HEAVY RAIN, TOO

又是差不多的時間, 又再突然下大雨了. 也許是天在開玩笑. 被天開玩笑的人, 此刻又在想甚麼?

A heavy rain again at the same time. Maybe it is a trick played by the god. The people tricked by the god, what are you thinking now?

忽然間下起大雨, 剛剛還是平靜的. 這剛剛是午飯的時間, 我想一定很多人外出午飯時都被雨打濕了.

A heavy rain come suddenly. It was clam in a minus ago. As it is time for lunch, many people may get wet when they out for lunch.

巴士站 BUS STOP

巴士站, 是一樣很平常的事物. 因為常見, 我們都沒有留意它們. 它們的外表不斷改變, 又有多少人發現? 這種巴士站仍然常見, 但不久後, 應該比較難再見到吧.

Bus stop is a usual thing. We never concern about them. They changed, and no one noticed. This type of bus stop is still common. However, they may not be easily seen after few years.

告別校園時 SAY GOOD BYE TO THE SCHOOL

這兒是一間位於大圍的小學. 雖然我並不是在這學校讀書, 但我因為各種理由, 已經到過這裡多次.

這小學將會於不久搬遷到附近的地方, 但是校園將會完全改變. 雖然校園改變了, 但它在各學生的心中仍然是舊模樣.

This is a primary school in Tai Wai. I am not studying in this school, but I have been there many times because of reasons.

This primary school will be moving to a place near the original place. The school will be totally different after moving. Although the school is changed, the image of the school remain the same in the student mind.

影樓攝影 STUDIO PHOTO

第一次到影樓拍攝, 可是並不是由我去拍, 我只是在旁邊拍攝花絮. 這次拍攝, 令我有點想去學習影樓的操作. 上網找了一點資料, 但是並不詳細. 我想是時候找個班學習了.

This is the first time I go to take photo in the studio. However, I am not the photographer. I am just the one taking highlights. After the photo taking, I want to learn more about photography in studio. I search some data on the web, but it is not in details. I think it is the time to find a lesson.

閒 LEISURE

每日, 都有不少空閒的老人家坐在公園.他們沒有甚麼事做, 只是閒坐著. 人生到老, 是閒還是悶?

Everyday, I see many elderly sitting in the garden. They have not thing to do and just sit there. It is leisure or bore when people become old?

香蕉?雪條? ICE BAR?BANANA?

最近推出了一種新的雪條(冰棒), 它的結構以香蕉為基本, 很可愛. 急不及待, 立即去買了嘗試. 結果...有點失望, 它的趣味是100分的, 但味道卻只有60分, 而且要放暖點才可以"玩", 失了吃雪條的感覺.

There is a new type of ice bar recently. It's idea is from banana, very funny. I can't wait any more and go to buy one. However, I felt disappointed after trying. It's idea is good, but the taste is just average. Also, if you want to "play" it, you have to wait until it become warm. You can not taste the ice bar cool in this banana.

沾仔記雲吞 WON TON IN TSIM CHAI KEE NOODLE

沾仔記, 是我最愛的雲吞麵店. 我最喜歡的不止是它的雲吞, 還有它的鯪魚球. 先說雲吞, 足足有一個乒乓球大小, 而且蝦很爽口, 很新鮮. 至於鯪魚球, 比雲吞更大粒, 而且非常彈牙. 每次經過, 都想再吃一次.


Tsim Chai Kee Noodle, is my favorite won ton noodle store. I love the won ton and fishball in the store. The won ton, is in a ping-pong size. The shrimp in the won ton is tasty and refreshing. The fishball, is much bigger than the won ton, And it is very fresh. I want to eat again every time I pass by the store.

突如其來的雨 RAIN IN A SUDDEN

在午飯前, 還是陽光普照, 但轉眼間, 就下起大雨來. 天有不測之風雲, 所以任何時候都應該為最壞的情況作打算.

突如其來的大雨, 為大地稍稍降溫, 也可算是一場及時雨.

It is still a sunny day before lunch. Just after the meal, it started to rain heavily. There are always something unexpected. So, you should always prepare for the worse case.

This unexpected rain makes the hot weather cooler. Some times, the unexpected may brings something good.

上海膠卷 SHANGHAI PAN FILM

上海GP3 膠卷(菲林), 是一種比較便宜的膠卷. 然而, 它的評價卻只是一般. 這些便宜的膠卷, 用作練習的媒體就最適合.

Shanghai GP3 pan film, is one of the cheapest film. It's comment, however, is not good. These cheap film are best for practice usage.

建設香港 BUILDING HONG KONG

每一個成市, 都不斷會有新建設, 香港亦不例外. 建設, 是維持成市的發展. 可是, 一直的發展, 對原有的地方有一定的破壞. 就因為建築這一座新酒店, 我家的景觀被遮擋了. 建設到底是好, 還是壞?

Always, there are new constructions in every city, including Hong Kong. To keep the city grows, constructions is needed. However, it may damage the place if construct continuously. Because of this new building hotel shown in the photo, my home lost the great sight. Construction is good or bad for us?

海灘上的雪人? SNOWMAN ON THE BEACH?

今天, 去了海灘遊玩. 下車後, 穿過樹林, 就到達海灘. 然而, 在海灘等著我們的, 不是三點式美女, 而是一個雪人! 到底是誰將它放在這裡? 炎夏的雪人, 你迷路了嗎?

I went to the beach today. After getting off the bus, we go through the wood to the beach. There is no hot girl in bikini waiting us, instead, a snowman! Who put the snowman on the beach? The snowman in the summer, do you lost your way home?

林子祥演唱會2011 VINTAGE LAMUSIC CONCERT

林子祥, 又名阿Lam, 香港歌手, 1976年推出首隻大碟. 直到今年, 他已經唱了35年歌了. 很喜歡他唱的歌, 很有味道. 今天是我第一次聽他的演唱會, 可能他年紀大了, 唱得比想像中差, 但我依然喜歡他唱的歌.

Lam Chi Cheung (George), also known professionally by his surname Lam, has sang for 35 years since his first album publish in 1976. I love his songs. His songs are charming. Today is the first time I join his concert. Maybe he is aged, he perform not as well as my expectation. However, I still love his songs.

叮叮 A RIDE ON THE "DING DING"

叮叮, 是香港電車的地道稱呼, 每當電車駛過路口, 都會發出"叮叮"聲, 就如汽車響號. 曾經, 我經常會乘搭"叮叮", 但因為"叮叮"只在香港島上, 離開香港島的工作後, 就很少聽到那"叮叮"聲了

"Ding Ding", is the name of tram called by Hong Kong peoples. Every time the tram pass through the junction, it emits a sound "Ding Ding", like the car horn.

I always rode on the "Ding Ding" when I work in the island side. It is because the "Ding Ding" is only on the island side. After leaving that job, I miss that "Ding Ding"

收郵包 I GOT A PACKAGE

這間速遞公司, 我從小已經認識, 但只在日本有. 而我一直都很喜愛這速遞公司的貓貓. 直到最近, 香港亦有這速遞了, 而今天, 我更收到了我第一個貓貓送來的郵包. ^u^

I knew this courier when I was a kid. However, it was in Japan only. I love this courier's logo, the kitty. Recently, this courier had opened in Hong Kong. And today, I got my first package which is sent by the lovely kitty.
